LAKELAND -- Mr. Chester Barnes Sr. of Lakeland died of
heart failure July 1, 2003, at Lakeland Regional Medical
Center. He was 72.
Born in Taylor County, he came to Lakeland from there in
1954. He was a Mason.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his sons, Chester Barnes Jr.,
Johnny Barnes, both of Zephyrhills, Guy Barnes; daughter,
Mae Francis Glenn, Tampa; brother, Robert Barnes,
Lakeland; sisters, Roberta Bogan, Tampa, Audrey Carroll;
several grandchildren.
Services at noon Saturday at New Jerusalem Baptist
Church. Burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
