Army Veteran, 104, Dies of Heart Failure
LAKELAND -- Mr. Fred Goodson of Lakeland died of heart
failure Tuesday (March 2, 2004) at Lakeland Regional
Medical Center. He was 104.
Born in Quincy, he came to Lakeland in 1935. He was a
retired cement finisher. He was a retired Army veteran.
He was a 50-year member of St. Lukes Ministries, where he
was the oldest deacon.
Mr. Goodson is survived by his wife, Eula Goodson;
daughters, Freddie Mae Adams, Joan Stone, Diane Powell,
all of Lakeland; son, Willie Teems, Tampa; sisters,
Kizzie Croxton, West Florida, Azzie People, Atlanta,
Mattie McNeal, Mary Goodson, Martha James, all of Tampa;
19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren.
Services were at St. Lukes Ministries.
