LAKELAND -- Mrs. Johnnie Mae Gunter of Lakeland died of heart failure Friday (Sept. 10, 2004) at Grace Healthcare of Lakeland. She was 93.

Born in New Brockton, Ala., she came to Lakeland from Alabama more than 50 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Senior Women Mission ministry, Choir No. 1, usher board and prayer band.

Mrs. Gunter is survived by her daughters, Pinell Sanders, Enterprise, Ala., Dorothy Dixon, Lakeland; 14 grandchildren; 35 greatgrandchildren; 28 great-greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 this evening at Coney Funeral Parlor.
