ARWILLA MODEST, 86

Cosmetologist

LAKELAND -- Arwilla Thomas Modest of Lakeland died Monday (June 20, 2005) of congestive heart failure at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was 86.

Born in Lake City, she came to Lakeland more than 55 years ago. She was a cosmetologist. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Women in White. She was a member of the Willing Workers, Prayer Band and the Interdenominational Prayer Band of Florida, She was a member of New Bethel AME Church.

Mrs. Modest was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Modest. She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Dean Modest Lowe, Lakeland, Donzetta Modest Lloyd, Lakeland; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services were at New Bethel AME Church.
