WINSTON SALEM, N.C. -- Mrs. Sonja Marie "Sweet T" Swain of Winston-Salem, who has family in Polk County, Fla., died of heart failure April 30, 2003, in Winston-Salem. She was 47.

Born in Tucson, Ariz., she moved to Winston Salem from there in 1958. She was a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of 10th Street Church of God.

Mrs. Swain is survived by her sons, Daryl Welch, Miami, Bobby Cobbs, Lakeland, Benny Edwards, Benjamin Bell, and Christopher Brockett, Winter Haven; daughters, Sadie Hammond, Christina Thompson, Winston-Salem, N.C., Eira Bell, Nettie Bell and Bethany Robinson; brother, Roy Allen Brockett, Henderson, Ky.; 28 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services at the funeral home chapel. Burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
